Community Curation Program

The Big Idea's Community Curation Program spreads the word about other local organizations doing good work, while promoting ideas of community and social justice as we have for the past decade. Groups such as Bike PGH, Justseeds, Iraq Veterans Against War, and more curate a dozen of our book sections, recommending titles that are important to the work that they do and bringing you, our supporters, a stronger selection of books.

Each group also hosts events pertaining to their activist work at the Big Idea. Some past events include a screening of In the Land of the Free and a speaking engagment with Robert King of the Angola 3 (Bloomfield Anarchist Action), a volunteer gathering for snow shovelers (East End Mutual Aid), the Aviation Justice Tour (Shadbush Collective), International Year of Cooperative Kick-Off Party (IYC POC), and Crimethinc's "Capitalism and Resistance" Tour (Bloomfield Anarchist Action).
